Earlier this month I was photographing the wedding of David and Phoebe at The Sun Hotel in Hitchin. Whilst I love shooting all weddings, this one was particularly special since David has been a friend of mine for many years. We met when writing music reviews for a website and bonded over obscure metal bands and precise grammar! Over the summer, D+P came down to Brighton for their engagement shoot with me and whilst they were both a bit nervous in front of the camera, it was easy to capture how in love they are.
For their wedding, David and Phoebe opted to have the ceremony, breakfast and reception all in one venue which I think is a great idea – it saves so much time and stress moving from location to location. The couple know and love Hitchin, so they wanted some bridal portraits around the immediate area. After the wedding breakfast, we took a stroll up to Hitchin Hill to get some sunset shots, and then we wandered back through the town. Phoebe was totally thinking along the same lines as me when we walked through the packed up market stalls and we grabbed a few photos on the trader’s tables!
Here’s a handful of my favourite photos. Many congratulations, David and Phoebe, it was a pleasure to be a part of your day!
